I Talked To Lauren This Morning.

Just like I do almost every morning.

Today she asked me what I was doing and I said. . . "Just moving crap around the big room." She laughed because she can just image the mess we are in. This post is for her so she can really visualize what we have gotten into.

Here is the story of how we got into this mess:

I haven't scrapbooked anything for a loooong time. I haven't felt like it and I haven't cared. But when Big Picture Scrapbooking sent me an e-mail telling me about a new class that uses the Becky Higgins Project Life system of just slipping pictures into photo pockets and writing down stories of my childhood, I got kind-of excited. I have always wanted to use my childhood photos to help tell the stories of my early life so my kids and grandkids would have a better understanding of how I grew up. I just needed a push and an easy idea, so I signed up. And I am glad I did.

The class just started last week, so we aren't too far into it, but just trying to get a clear space where I could work, and think, has. . . well. . . turned into a HUGE project!

In order to find photos and supplies, we needed to clean and purge ALOT of crap! Stuff that has been ignored and stuffed and put out of sight just to get it out of the way. Not a good thing. So, by about 9:30 last Saturday morning, this is what our Big Room looked like.

What an absolute disaster zone! No place to sit or stand.

Albums in the bathroom? Oh yeah.

And empty bookshelves.

We moved the bookshelf over to the other wall where the table was, and put the table where the book case was. Oh my word, there was ALOT of stuff in that bookcase and under that table.

Dusting and vacuuming baseboards and air vents that we haven't been able to get to for a while felt WONDERFUL!

Today, we are still in a mess, but I think I can say we are about 80% finished. We can actually see the carpet and that garbage can has been emptied over and over and over again.

The kids are putting all their school papers into school memorabilia bins organized by grade. Whoohoo!

And the bookshelves are starting to take shape with much less stuff in them.

A huge project for sure, but so well worth it!

I LOVE this!!!! I also LOVE the shelf on that wall!!! The big room is taking shape!

I am also glad that we aren't there because Lillie would blow through all of your nicely organized piles and within seconds the papers would be everywhere! Other than that, I wish we could help! We will take our pictures off of your hands when we come on Friday.

Love you Mom!!!!!
