Technically, though, it was really one big family night. Don't ya think?
In Kenneth's attempt to have some sort of lesson, as we were about to say our family prayer and finally go to sleep, he asked the question to the girls (and to be perfectly honest I was grumbling inside my head thinking, "Really? Do we really have to?).
Anyway. . . Here is the question he asked.
"Marg, tell me one thing you learned from tonight?"
It was a serious question.
I think he was expecting an answer with some sort of magnificent lesson learned from the night of scary costumes, wild kids, etc., etc.
This was Marg's answer. . .
"Always go to the house with the biggest candy???"

The other half of the story is that we asked Caroline to come up with a spiritual application to what Margaret had learned. Caroline turned to D&C 76 and the verses that talk about the Celestial Kingdom and said to Margaret, going to the houses with the biggest candy bars is like living our lives so that we get to live in the Celestial Kingdom! It was a very special thought from a special young woman!
