Location. Location. Location.

When my great-grandparents decided to build a cabin (They were in their '60's and built the whole thing by hand! Cut the logs, shaped the logs, hauled the logs, hauled the rock for the fireplace, etc., etc.) they chose this lot because of it's location on the Snake River.

The river provides lots of entertainment for us during our week in Island Park.

Floating down the river is pretty much everyone's favorite thing to do (except mine). :)

It usually entails loading up the cars and driving a few miles up the road to the dam. 

Those who want to go down the river go, and those who don't, go back to the cabin and wait at the pier to welcome home the adventurous ones and help them out of the river.

I'd say it takes a good hour or more to float that part of the river.

 It's always a little tricky getting off at the pier/dock because the river current is so strong.

three bruises on her back from hitting rocks in the rapids.

It's a great thing to be able to have such access to the river.
