Tabby Grey: Happy Anniversary Lauren and Jake!

It's hard to believe that one year ago today Jake and Lauren were married. We were talking about this last night and even though it is hard to believe a year has passed, it is also hard to remember a time when Jake and Lauren weren't together. Jake "fits in" just perfectly and you two were meant to be together!

The top part of their wedding cake has been in our freezer this whole time and last night they came to retrieve it. While it looks like it may have "collapsed" a little bit, it sure smelled good when they took it out of it's protective covering.

The almond smell was so strong the kids couldn't resist smelling it. O.K., Kenneth and I couldn't resist either. It will be interesting to know if it tastes good.

I vividly remember Kenneth and my first anniversary. I was "sicker than a dog" - pregnant (we lost that baby) - the top of our cake looked good, but only tasted like freezer burn. Not a good flavor for a sick pregnant lady. Kenneth couldn't eat it either.

Lauren's cake lady promised us they would have a delicious cake one year later if we did the following:

1. Wrap the cake tightly in a few layers of aluminum foil.

2. Put the wrapped cake into a clean (and empty) plastic gallon ice cream container.

3. Stuff as much thin plastic sheeting (she suggested the plastic that comes over your clothes from the dry cleaners when you pick up your clean clothes) around and on top of the cake. Put the ice cream container lid on top and freeze for one year.

Lauren and Jake, you will have to let us know if she was right!
