Funerals Are, Well. . . Weird.

I guess it's not the funeral that's weird. It's the days leading up to the funeral.

I am here in St. George for my sister Jenny's sister-in-law who died unexpectedly last Monday morning.

Sadness. Happiness. Memories. Tears. Heartache.

So many emotions rolled into one small amount of time.

The thing that made me the happiest this whole week, though, happened just a few minutes ago.

Nine kids under the age of 14. All dancing and laughing together with the music blaring. . . congo lines, singing their hearts out, and enjoying just being together with their cousins.

Marg has been here with me this week. She isn't a cousin to all the kids - just Jenny's kids, but the rest of the Cox family has adopted her and she has just fit in like one of the family.

She calls Grandma and Grandpa Cox, well, Grandma and Grandpa. That's a HUGE deal for a little girl with no Grandparents.

I am grateful for family, extended or not. It is the glue that keeps "it all" together. It's not always easy, but it is definitely so worth it.
